Also called yucca palm, tree yucca and palm tree yucca.  Part of yucca  genus Yucca and family Asparagaceae.

Native to the arid southwestern 🇺🇸 USA, specifically the 🏜 Mojave Desert at elevation 400-1,800 m (1,300-5,900 ft).

of butterflies and moths, in some areas.

Gives its name to 🏞 Joshua Tree National Park.
