A tree with 🌳︎ broadleaves arranged ╫ opposite, blade division=🍁︎ simple, ♧ 3-lobed, ▴▴▴▴ fine-toothed, — hairless, bark=striped ⫼ vertically white and green, buds thick and 8–10 mm (⅓–⅖ in) long, conspicuously-stalked.  The main common name comes from the bark=striped ⫼ vertically white and green.

Also called moosewood, moose maple and goosefoot maple.  One of the soft maples.

Part of 🍁︎ maple  genus Acer in soapberry  family Sapindaceae in cashew / 🌰︎ chestnut / 🍊︎ citrus / 🍁︎ maple  order Sapindales.

Acer hosts caterpillars of 285 species
of butterflies and moths, in some areas.   This plant is also known to be a host for (in areas where invasive) 🐝︎ spotted lanternfly (SLF)  Lycorma delicatula.

Most plants have flowers of or with both genders.  This tree has flowers of a single gender.  But each tree can be a different gender in different years! ^[1]
