The name saguaro comes from the Mayo language, later moving into Spanish, then English.  Part of cactus  family Cactaceae.

Native to the 🏜 Sonoran Desert in 🇲🇽 Mexico and 🇺🇸 USA, and some parts of California. The saguaro blossom is the state wildflower of Arizona.
