Native to 🇳🇴 🇸🇪 🇫🇮 Scandinavia, the 🇪🇪 🇱🇻 🇱🇹 Baltics, European 🇷🇺 Russia, and 🗻︎ mountainous parts of 🇪🇺 Europe.   ▭ 🌍︎ Map (scroll down), ▭ 🌎︎ map (eastern 🇺🇸 USA).   Invasive > 🇺🇸 USA   Imported to North America as an ornamental.  Large old trees are indeed grand.
